Ethics Policy
Global Insights in Public and Preventive Health (GIPPH) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing. The journal adheres to the principles and best practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and follows internationally accepted ethical frameworks recommended by ICMJE, WAME, and major indexing bodies.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to GIPPH must ensure that:
- Submitted work is original, accurate, and based on ethically conducted research
- All data are honestly collected, analyzed, and reported without fabrication or manipulation
- Manuscripts are not under consideration by another journal at the time of submission
- All listed authors have made a significant contribution and approved the final manuscript
- All relevant financial and non-financial conflicts of interest are fully disclosed
- Ethical approval details and informed consent are provided where applicable
Scientific misconduct—including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate image manipulation, or unethical research practices—is strictly prohibited.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
Editors of GIPPH are responsible for:
- Making publication decisions based solely on scientific merit, originality, and relevance to public and preventive health
- Ensuring a fair, unbiased, and confidential peer-review process
- Acting promptly and responsibly when ethical concerns or allegations arise
- Following COPE guidelines for handling:
- Plagiarism and redundant publication
- Authorship disputes
- Undeclared conflicts of interest
- Data fabrication or manipulation
- Corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern
Editors must not use unpublished information disclosed in submitted manuscripts for personal, academic, or professional benefit.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers contributing to GIPPH must:
- Evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and professionally
- Maintain strict confidentiality throughout the peer-review process
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest and decline reviews when conflicts exist
- Alert the editor to suspected plagiarism, ethical misconduct, or data integrity concerns
- Provide constructive, respectful, and timely feedback to improve manuscript quality
4. Responsibilities of the Publisher
The publisher, NEO-ART EXCELLENCE HUB PRIVATE LIMITED, is responsible for ensuring:
- Integrity and transparency of the publication process
- Editorial independence and freedom from commercial or institutional influence
- Long-term digital preservation and continuous accessibility of published content
- Prompt publication of corrections, retractions, or updates when required
5. Handling of Misconduct
GIPPH follows COPE standard flowcharts and procedures when investigating and addressing allegations of misconduct, including:
- Plagiarism
- Duplicate or redundant publication
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Authorship disputes
- Ethical violations involving human or animal research
Corrective actions may include, but are not limited to:
- Publication of formal corrections or errata
- Retraction of the published article
- Issuance of expressions of concern
- Temporary or permanent restrictions on future submissions in serious cases
- Notification of authors’ institutions or relevant authorities when appropriate
