Author Guidelines
Global Insights in Public and Preventive Health (GIPPH)
Thank you for your interest in publishing with the Global Insights in Public and Preventive Health (GIPPH). To ensure smooth processing and timely publication, authors are requested to follow the below guidelines carefully before submitting their manuscripts.
1. General Information
- Publication Type: Open Access
- Frequency: Bi-Monthly
- Peer Review: Single Blind (Reviewer identity is hidden)
- Average Review Time: 30 days (Fast Track: 15 days with extra fee)
- Article Processing Charge (APC): 500 USD per accepted manuscript
- Waiver Policy:
- 50% discount for authors from low-income countries (based on World Bank list)
- 100% waiver for high-quality manuscripts from low-income countries
- 50% inaugural discount for the first three issues
2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted
GIPPH welcomes high-quality research and review articles in all areas of Public and Preventive Health, including but not limited to: Public Health and Epidemiology, Preventive Medicine and Primary Care, Health Policy and Health Management, Global Health Challenges and Innovations, Occupational and Environmental Health, Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Programs and Community Medicine and Social Determinants of Health.
Accepted manuscript types include:
- Original Research Articles
- Review Articles
- Policy Briefs / Reports
- Short Communications
- Editorials
- Letters to the Editor
3. Manuscript Preparation
All manuscripts must be written in English and formatted as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx). The text should be double-spaced, in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1-inch margins on all sides.
3.1 Manuscript Sections
Each manuscript should contain the following sections (in order):
Title Page
- Title of the manuscript (concise and informative)
- Full names of all authors
- Institutional affiliations
- Corresponding author’s full contact details (email, phone, address)
- ORCID IDs (if available)
- Acknowledgment of funding or support (if applicable)
Abstract
- Should not exceed 250 words
- Structured format preferred (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion)
- Include 3–6 keywords listed after the abstract
Main Text Sections
- Introduction: Describe background, rationale, and objectives.
- Materials and Methods: Clearly state study design, data collection, and analysis methods. Mention ethical approval when applicable.
- Results: Present findings clearly with tables and figures where needed.
- Discussion: Interpret results, relate to existing studies, and explain implications.
- Conclusion: Summarize key findings and future recommendations.
Acknowledgments (optional)
Mention individuals or organizations who contributed but are not listed as authors.
Conflict of Interest
All authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest.
Funding Statement
State the funding source or write “No external funding received.”
References
List all cited works following the Vancouver (Numerical) Style.
4. Tables and Figures
- Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).
- Each table and figure should have a clear title and legend.
- Submit high-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi) in JPEG or PNG format.
- Figures must be inserted at the end of the manuscript or uploaded as separate files.
5. References – Vancouver Style
- References should be numbered in the order they appear in the text.
- Use superscript numbers (e.g., “as reported previously¹”).

6. Ethical Considerations
- All submitted manuscripts must comply with COPE and ICMJE ethical standards.
- For studies involving human participants, mention approval from an appropriate Ethical Review Board.
- Written informed consent must be obtained for identifiable patient information or images.
7. Plagiarism Policy
GIPPH strictly prohibits plagiarism in any form.
All submissions are checked using plagiarism detection tools. Manuscripts with >20% similarity index may be returned or rejected.
8. Copyright and Licensing
- Copyright is shared by both the Author and Publisher (JCAM).
- All published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).
- This allows unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided the original author and source are credited.
9. Submission Process
Authors should submit manuscripts via the online submission system on the GIPPH website.
Ensure that the manuscript file, figures, and supplementary data (if any) are uploaded together.

10. Review and Decision
- Manuscripts are screened for relevance and originality.
- Each submission is reviewed by at least two independent experts.
- The final decision (accept/revise/reject) rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
- Accepted articles undergo copyediting and proofing before publication.
11. Post-Acceptance
Authors will receive galley proofs for final review. Once approved, the article will be published online under the “Ahead of Print” section before issue assignment.
